About Mrs. Harkins...

Welcome back to school! Where has the summer gone? I can't wait to get
started. This will be my 26th year of teaching in New Prague and my 36th year
of teaching all together. Wow! As the saying goes, "Time flies when you're
having fun!"

Prior to teaching in New Prague, I also taught 4th, 5th, and 6th grade for 10
years at Our Lady of the Prairie School in Belle Plaine. I grew up in Belle
Plaine and went to the College of Saint Benedict to earn my teaching degree.
I also have a Master's Degree in Education from Saint Mary's University in
Winona, MN.

My husband Clint and I, have three children, Patrick (32), Emily (30), and
Kaylee (16). Clint, Kaylee, and I live in Le Center. Patrick lives in Northfield and
works for Medtronic. Emily lives in Norwood Young America and works at Stars Early Learning Academy
as a preschool teacher. Kaylee will be in eleventh grade this year.
She plays on the varsity Volleyball and Track teams, is a member of the National Honor Society
and many other school groups, and enjoys spending time with friends.
We had a wonderful summer full of redoing the basement in our house,
but did have some time for boating, camping, fishing, and just being together with family and friends! I am anxious to get started on Wednesday! I'll be here waiting for smiles or tears. I am excited to be working with your children and helping them to grow in the academic setting. Let me know if I can ever be of any help or answer any questions that you may have.

Classroom Mission

It is my mission to provide and consistently nurture a classroom of
respectful, cooperative, safe, and motivated third graders who help one
another to learn.
