2025-26 Welcome Back!

Hello!  My name is Jason Wacek.  I grew up in Olivia, MN.  My dad is a farmer on our family farm.  I graduated from BOLD High School in 2000, and then went to college at Minnesota State University Moorhead where I graduated in 2005.  After getting hired in New Prague right after college I got my Masters in Teaching and Learning from St. Mary's University in Winona.  This is my 21st year of teaching for the New Prague School District.  I love traveling, hiking, fishing, golfing, swimming, and going to church. I'm pumped for the MN Viking season to start!

My wife Leah, four kids, and I live in New Prague.  Leah is an ELL teacher at the high school, middle school, and Raven Stream.  She loves running, reading, traveling, and hanging out with the kids.  Norah is 16 years old and going into 11th grade.  She is in gymnastics, cross country, and church youth group.  She loves to teach swimming lessons, craft, hang with friends, drive her car, and babysit in her free time.  Cara is 14 years old and going into 9th grade.  She loves singing, dance, and musicals. Ruby is 12 years old and beginning 7th grade at the middle school.  She plays soccer and volleyball.  She could sit by the beach all day exploring in the sand.  Finally, Simon is 10 and in 5th grade.  He is ALL boy who loves football, soccer, baseball, golf, swimming, and fishing.  His rough and tough personality doesn't represent that he has three sisters.  All the kids love attending Camp Fusion Bible Camp every summer for 5 days

The big highlight of the summer was hosting family and friends at our house and pool!  Our family loves to spend time together.  Here are a few other FUN memories of the summer:

  • Stoney Creek Campsite in Wisconsin with friends
  • Watching Simon Trojan Baseball and winning their division Championship
  • Lion King musical at the High School
  • staying at The Old Barn Resort - biking on state trails and tubing down the Root River with 2 other families
  • Wisconsin Dells - Wilderness - with my parents and sister’s family
  • MN Viking Training Camp as a family
  • 20 year anniversary with my wonderful wife - dinner at Layline
  • fishing
  • Belle Plaine Fireworks during BBQ Days
  • Beauty and Beast at the Orpheum
  • I also paint houses as a second job, and was busy doing that a lot.
