The Mission and About the Teacher

I have many artistic goals for the students at Raven Stream. I work hard to
 help them achieve success and learn to enjoy and appreciate the visual arts. 
Though the creative process students will practice problem solving and critical
thinking skills. In the art studio students will be working on all parts of art
 education including art history, criticism, production and aesthetics. I am
 enthusiastic about learning new things about art and find it is important
for all students and educators alike to be positive, respectful and productive
 team players. 

My name is Kathryn Krech and this is my nineteenth year of teaching art in 
New Prague. I have an amazing family including my husband Brandon
and a 101/2 year old son Kassen and a 7 year old son named Torrin. I 
have a master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Concordia
University and a bachelor’s degree in K-12 Visual Arts Education 
from Minnesota State University. My personal artistic passions revolve 
around ceramic sculpture, many forms of painting, mosaics, 
and using creative problem solving skills. I love the arts and helping 
students find their inner artist and stretching their creative problem 
solving abilities. I also feel blessed to work in a community with such
wonderful students, families, and staff.
