Meet Mrs. Casey

Welcome to first grade! My name is Sara Casey. This will be my 11th year teaching first grade at Raven Stream. Before coming to New Prague I was a Special Education Para and a substitute teacher in the Eden Prairie School District. In between these two positions I took some time off to be with my family. 

I grew up in Belle Plaine and I feel so fortunate to be teaching close to family and friends. I earned my Master's Degree and Teaching License from Hamline University in St. Paul. Before that, I received my Bachelor's Degree in Journalism and Mass Communications from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul.

I currently live in Jordan with my husband and our children Greta (11), Miles (9) and Leo (6.5). We love spending time on the lake, watching movies and going up north.

I am very excited for the 2024-25 school year! We have many fun lessons and activities planned. With your help, I know your child will succeed in first grade! Communication is very important to me. If you have any questions or concerns throughout the year please contact me.
