Meet Mrs. Brandt

Hello! My name is Kara Brandt...and I LOVE teaching first grade! This will be my 19th year of teaching and my 14th year at Raven Stream with first graders. Before that, I taught 3rd grade in The Colony, TX. In between these jobs I stayed at home with my children while they were young. I received my bachelor's degree from Bemidji State University and my master's degree from St. Mary's University.

I grew up in Lester Prairie, MN and now live in New Prague with my husband, Shawn. We have three children who all went through Raven Stream Elementary. Morgan (23) is in her last year of the physical therapy program at St. Catherine University. Adam (21) is in the Air Force and stationed in the United Kingdom working with the avionics/navigation systems of C140s. Rachel (19) is a sophomore at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse studying elementary education. I enjoy hiking, running, swimming, traveling to new places, and being on the lake. Playing with my sweet little dog, Phoebe, is a favorite too.

I look forward to being your child's teacher and working together to make this year a successful and positive learning experience for your child. We'll have lots of fun too! : )

Last summer Shawn and I traveled to Utah where we hiked Zion and Bryce Canyon National Parks.
