Profile of a Graduate
Being a collaborator means your child is a great team player at school! It's all about working with classmates to make learning even more fun and effective. This looks like children who listen to their friends' ideas, solve problems together like a team of detectives, and can share their own thoughts clearly so everyone understands. They're also kids who actively participate in group activities and are flexible, meaning they're happy to try different ways of doing things to help the group succeed. When children collaborate, they learn more deeply and develop important social skills. This month, students have participated in a buddy class activity to learn about and practice being great collaborators!

Build a Habit of Good Attendance
Starting in preschool and kindergarten, too many absences can cause children to fall behind in school. • Missing 2 days a month can make it harder for kids to learn to read. • Students can still fall behind if they miss just 1 or 2 days every few weeks. • By 6th grade, absenteeism is one of three signs that a student might drop out of high school.
Need some ideas to improve attendance for your child? Check out this information for 9 tips.

Reading Corner
Tell a family story: Start a story where each person contributes a sentence, creating a unique and unpredictable tale. This can be done during car rides, at the dinner table or before bedtime. Storytelling builds listening skills and lets each person exercise their creativity and vocabulary.
